Goal and Target

Department of Turkish Language and Literature aims to educate contemporary language and literature researchers/teachers who know Turkish language and literature’s structure and its historical development, works published in Turkish and their authors; Pre-Islamic, Islamic, under the influence of Western and after the proclamation of Republic periods, genres; form and content features of Turkish language and literature; who apprehend form and meaning features of Turkish; cultural, political and social sources of Turkish Literature; who can compare Turkish language and literature’s feature with others’ features; learn and use method of research, analysis and comparison; represent all these acquisitions with creative thought by connecting national and universal culture; follow closely century’s developments; who is open to innovation, who can make use of technology for research and education activities, study interdisiplionary, faithful to scientific ethical principles and Turkish Republic’s national and moral values, within the frame of goals of Turkish Higher Education.

The objective of Department of Turkish Language and Literature is to maintain educating and teaching activities by updating undergraduate program in parallel with developments, innovations and requirments of modern education and teaching field on the purpose of educating qualified and equipped language and literature researchers; to publish scientific article and studies in the fields of Turkish language, Classical Turkish Literature, Modern Turkish Literature and Turkish Folk Literature; to hold national and universal panels, conferences, symposiums; to educate teachers who are competent on Turkish language and literature and in this way contributing to Turkish culture, art, language and literature studies, to reach to a leading condition at level of undergraduate with this contribution.
